The sacredness of the mundane...

The sacredness of the mundane…

At the beginning of 2021, I asked God some questions about each month and how to partner with Him.
.
For December, the question was “what is a Christmas moment you’d like to share with me?”
.
God answered and said “a picture of a woman holding a baby.”
.
I had forgotten about it until I was playing legos with my son, after having read some of the Christmas story to him about how love came crashing into our world in the most unexpected way…
.
…and right then, this picture seemed to pop off the page and I immediately remembered what God had shared with me about this exact moment and that He wanted to share it with me…
.
My heart was consumed with overwhelming love that the creator of the universe had already gone into my future, had seen this moment with my son, and said that He wanted to be a part of it.
.
My heart overflowed with the understanding that this moment was sacred. Right here. On the floor. In Jammie’s. Surrounded by legos. With my son. And the tangible presence of God.
.
I have been undone by the reckless love of God recently…that it fills in the gaps where earthly live falls short and is SO present and close.
.
My encouragement for you today is to ask God about a moment that He wants to share with you and watch as He brings it about in the most beautiful and probably unexpected way.
.
The sacredness of what could seem mundane is not lost on me and it’s moments like this are where the richness of real love is found 💙
